BACKPACKING in the Peak District along the Monsal Trail

We came to the Peak District on our motorbikes to go hiking on the Monsal Trail. The monsal trail walk is approx 9 miles long each way. We went backpacking in the peak district to do this route and go wild camping too.

We took our new tents to test and review. The 3F UL Gear Lanshan 2 Pro tent and the Terra Nova Pioneer 2. Both tests were very impressive and we even managed to pitch them in the dark. Finding a place to wild camp was not easy but we got there in the end.

Hiking in the Peak District is much easier than other National Parks. I must say this route is one of the easiest hiking routes I have ever done, perfect for novices and the less able.

The Lanshan is a trekking pole tent. I've got 2 sets of trekking poles. Although the carbon poles are lighter the Unigear poles are better quality:

There is plenty to see on the monsal trail walking route. I particularly liked going through the tunnels.
