Calls for 'national framework' to ensure interstate truckies get 'a fair go'

Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Transport Association Peter Anderson says he wants to see a consistent national cross-border protocol implemented that meets both the schedules and COVID testing requirements of interstate truck drivers.

"We want a national framework. We're petitioning the government at the moment that the interstate transport sector gets a fair go," he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

"We're not trying to challenge the health authorities in what they're trying to do to pull back the spread of COVID.

"What we're trying to do is ensure that we've got a consistency of application right around the country."
