Some people are defined by their work. They are so career-oriented and job-focused that they can barely talk about anything else. I'm not one of those people. I have a wide variety of interests, and even employments, and I sometimes have to remind myself that my self-identity is not set by the institution issuing me my paychecks. It's important to do your job(s) as well as you can, but it's safer for you psychologically to also separate yourself from that job when you're not actually doing it. -- Larry M. Brow
