Hello HOPE family!
I am out here at Columbia Park at the Playground of Dreams! This is where I will take my grandkids! When I have them... no hurry! No rush! Don't have any yet! But, this is an amazing place. So much fun!
I was reading Psalm 46 the other day. I love verse 1. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (or "time of need") This was reassuring because I have a lot of needs! A lot of things going on—decisions, plans, and projects that I'm pursuing regarding HOPE, and my family, and all kinds of things. But to know that God says He is an ever-present help is so encouraging! Read the whole Psalm, because you get down to verse 10 and it says to "Be still, and know that I am God." So often, I'm just scurrying about, doing everything in my own strength, my own power, and I just got to be reminded to "be still" and to know that God is in control! I hope that encourages you today!
Got some things coming up this week that I think are going to be really special for HOPE Tri-Cities!
This Sunday, August 1, I'm super excited to introduce to you Marcie and Brandon Brazee as our guest speakers at HOPE Tri-Cities. They are our Foursquare missionaries to Cologne, Germany and have an incredible story of how God called them to the mission field. You won't want to miss hearing from them! Afterwards, we'll have our HOPE Family Barbecue with hot dogs and hamburgers. Please bring a dish to share and plan on hanging out with friends and the Brazees after service. We'll also have an opportunity to you to give cash, checks, or online gifts toward our Cologne, Germany Mission Team who will be serving at our Foursquare Europe Missionaries' Conference in October. Please consider bringing an extra monetary gift to support our team and get our fundraising off to a great start!
Then on Friday, August 6, we are having a HOPE Worship Night at 6PM! We're doing this in combination with Celebrate Recovery. If you've been looking forward to a night of uninterrupted worship with a full band, you're going to love this night of worship!
Finally, we have another God Encounter story to share with you this Sunday. You're going to hear some testimonies from our middle school and high schoolers who returned from Summer Camp! God did incredible things in their lives!
Have a great week and I look forward to seeing you Sunday!
