Joshua Bloom - "Oh, better far to live and die" THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE (Sullivan) 2015

The Australian bass, Joshua Bloom, has sung principal roles with San Francisco Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Wiener Staatsoper, English National Opera, Oper Köln, LA Opera, Opera Australia, New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Garsington Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Badisches Staatstheater, Irish National Opera and New Israeli Opera, among others.
He made his Opera Australia debut in OzOpera's 1998 production of THE BARBER OF SEVILLE. Since then, his roles for Opera Australia have included Dandini in CENERENTOLA, Figaro in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Escamillo in CARMEN, Leporello in DON GIOVANNI and Nick Shadow in THE RAKE'S PROGRESS.
We hear him as the Pirate King in Gilbert & Sullivan's THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE in a performance with English National Opera in 2015. The English National Opera Orchestra is conducted by David Parry.
