Saturn, the second largest planet in our solar system, is currently in opposition. He reached this on August 2nd. In astronomy, one speaks of opposition when a planet is at an angle of 180 degrees to the sun when viewed from the earth. He can then be seen the entire night. Saturn reaches its opposition position approximately every 377 days. Incidentally, Jupiter reached its opposition position on August 20th.

In der Astronomie spricht man von Opposition, wenn ein Planet von der Erde aus gesehen im 180 Grad Winkel zur Sonne steht. Damit ist er dann die komplette Nacht über zu sehen. Der Saturn erreicht ca. alle 377 Tage seine Oppositions Position. Jupiter erreicht übrigens am 20. August seine Oppositions Position.
