In this walkthrough of Skyrim Special Edition, played on legendary difficulty, Cloudland Vagrant takes on Survival Mode the hardcore way.
That’s right - I am making my life in Skyrim unnecessarily tough and even more inconvenient by taking on Survival Mode without using Horse Carriages or Ferry Boats!
Why? Because our hero Bayenor is a true lover of Horses, in particular his best friend Frost, and considers carriages animal cruelty (he also has an unhealthy distain for the Transportation industry).
I guess he never really thought about just how much changes when you (or your horse) are literally walk through the game.
Well, I have: It changes the entire approach to the game. Every trip requires much more planning, you need to make sure the areas you travel to offer something worthwhile at the level you are at and finishing longer quests present a tough challenge.
But enough negativity: Playing like this is way more fun than I ever imagined. TRULY. Operating locally in Skyrim improves game immersion drastically and the amount knowledge of the surrounding locations you gain is quite surprising. It’s quite simply a fantastic opportunity to discover Skyrim in a new and very different way.
Reading that you may think: Such a build sounds veeeeeery high maintenance and way too complicated – I don’t have that kind of time, Cloudland!
Good news – I already did all the work for you! Everything I show you is tested thoroughly and will definitely work for your build too!
Everything you see here is done on legendary difficulty, so it will work on any difficulty you want to use. If you want to follow this walkthrough you’ll need the following:
- Skyrim Special Edition or all DLCs plus the base game
- Survival Mode (Creation Club)
- Adventurer’s Backpack (Creation Club)
I DON’T USE MODS! This is a 100% vanilla walkthrough, this includes the unofficial patches as well. This build won’t work as shown if you play with MODS or the unofficial patches!
