The great state of Washington is still helping residents with vital rental assistance and disaster relief stimulus funds.

Cowlitz County commissioners earlier this week decided to continue with administering the Treasury Rent Assistance Program, which provides rent or utility assistance to low-income residents negatively affected or who are homeless or at risk of losing housing.

The county will then switch to administering the newer Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), which does not require people to prove job or wage loss from the pandemic.

It’s great to see Washington continuing to provide vital rental assistance to struggling citizens, and hopefully similar rent programs are being offered in your neck of the woods.

Meanwhile, a new affordable housing development could offer $17 million in home stimulus checks for struggling citizens in the great state of New York.

According to Westfair: “A former WestHELP homeless shelter at an entrance to the Westchester Community College campus has been transformed into the modern Mayfair Apartments for seniors ages 62 and older.”

The redeveloped affordable housing site contains 74 housing units consisting of 60 one-bedroom, eight two-bedroom, and six studio apartments for residents with low and moderate incomes.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer explained: “We know that our residents are not fleeing Westchester and we want to see them living happily and comfortably in the place they have always called home.”

This is great news for my viewers in the Big Apple, as these new affordable housing opportunities can keep deserving New Yorkers in a home following the past 19 months of craziness.

Finally, in the amazing city of Sommerville, in the great state of Massachusetts, voted to extend its eviction moratorium through the winter and spring.

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone explained: “Keeping people in their homes is one of the many ways we are trying to limit the spread of this virus."

He also said: “"We know about a third of renters who are evicted move in with friends or family, which can cause crowded conditions that help spread.”

Director of Housing Stability Ellen Shachter stated: "Tenants who are not able to stay current with their rent are strongly encouraged to call the Office of Housing Stability for help in obtaining rental assistance to stabilize their tenancies and avoid credit problems.”

Hopefully all of my viewers in the Bay State can receive vital eviction protections, as well as anyone else across America struggling to pay rent, mortgages or other important living expenses.

I hope you found this video entertaining and informative.
