Could lightsabers ignite underwater?
If a lightsaber was ignited underwater it would quickly short out and would require minor repairs in order for it to work again. However, taking inspiration from ancient Jedi lightsabers Kit Fisto was able to modify his lightsaber for use underwater. Known as a bifurcating cyclical ignition pulse, this process utilised a second crystal to prevent it shorting out underwater. Many jedi of the clone wars would modify their lightsabers by using this modification discovered by Kit Fisto, helping them win many key battles. The Jedi Master then recorded his findings in the Great Jedi Holocron which allowed Luke Skywalker to discover it years later. Grand Master Luke Skywalker thought that this discovery was so important that the modification became a standard part of every lightsaber in his Jedi order.
