In many parts of the world, clove or long spice is well known. In the Indian subcontinent, cloves are used to enhance the taste of various dishes. In other parts of the world, the spice is mixed with other spices. Along with that, cinnamon, cardamom, and bay leaves are also used in such hot spices. In Bangladesh, clove is sold for BDT 2300 to 2600 per kg at the retail level. Black pepper, cinnamon, and cumin can also be purchased for around BDT 800 per kg.
