Grover was found laying on the streets of Corpus Christi, Texas. He looked as if he had given up all hope, as he flattened himself low to the dirt, just trying to feel any ounce of relief. While this sweet boy looks rough, his many medical conditions, are causing even more agony than one can see.

Local animal control spotted the brown beauty when driving on their shift. They really couldn’t believe their eyes. Grover is so skinny, every rib was protruding from this chest, making him look like a skeleton. They quickly picked him and took him to their facility, but with heavy hearts, they knew if they didn’t contact rescuers, he would most likely be euthanized. So the officer began sending emails around to local rescuers. In a stroke of great luck, a foster saw the email and called upon rescuers at Faith and Hope Foundation Rescue. The team couldn’t believe the story that was being riddled off to them. A large and gorgeous dog was left to suffer from multiple ailments at one time, while passersby did little to help. Rescuers sprung into action and went to go meet with the sweet street dog. Upon greeting, the poor, broken dog was crouched on the floor and shaking. Noticing the mucous in his eyes, how hungry he was, and his lack of hair, rescuers could never say no. With a bright journey in front of him, the kind-hearted pup rode with rescuers to the animal hospital. The team noted that while in the car, he seemed to wag his tail happily, almost like he knew he was going to get help finally. Once at the vet, the doctor took him immediately to get to the bottom of his dismal health. The doctor returned with agony of the mind, delivering news that he is Heartworm positive, hookworm positive, whipworm infection, broken teeth, hair loss, and hip pain. With tears in their eyes, rescuers asked if they could devise a plan of action. The vet agreed and kept the big lover in order to keep an eye on his kidney levels and also due to the fact that his white blood cells were really high.

Rescuers felt a tad hopeless, but they received a phone call from a mother friend, who had received a large donation and she was insisting on helping Grover, after also seeing his story on the original email. With a breath of new hope, the team is getting the big mass of puppy love everything he needs.

Currently, Grover is still at the vet, where doctors are taking his medical care one step at a time. Rescuers plan to be his side every step of the way and have ensured us they will be giving us updates as time goes on.
