Singapore's ground handling and in-flight catering firm SATS is buying Paris-based Worldwide Flight Services -- the world's largest air cargo handling firm -- in a $1.64 billion cash deal. The transaction would create an air cargo handling network stretching across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific. Temasek, which owns about a 40% stake in SATS, has agreed to vote in favour of this move. Associate Professor Goh Puay Guan from the Department of Analytics & Operations at NUS Business School shared his thoughts on the proposed acquisition.
